Earthjustice, in their mountaintop removal campaign, is asking people to write to talkshow fixture Oprah Winfrey to encourage her to invite a group of appalachian women to be on her show. This emanates from an article in the July issue of Oprah’s magazine, O, which features a “special report on the devastation caused by mountaintop removal mining in Appalachia and the courage of the women who are standing against it to protect their families, communities, and environment.” Earthjustice provides contact information for Oprah and a sample letter. Requests can be sent via Oprah’s website or the postal service.
